Water Discovered In Atmosphere Of An Extrasolar Planet

Space.com is reporting the exciting news that water was discovered in the atmosphere of an extrasolar planet, something believed to be critical for life.

While it doesn’t mean there has to be life on HD209458b (the planet where it was found) it’s at least another link in the chain of necessary elements. The more of the necessary items found on other planets, the less arguments should be heard against the possibility of alien life. While atmospheric water is a small one of these elements, expect the smaller ones to be discovered first.
